If...

If I had $198 dollars (plus shipping) laying around I would buy this dress.  I already have shoes that would look great with it!

Gardening

Sunday we spent the afternoon outside cleaning up the bushes.  Since I wouldn't let her use the real clippers she ran inside and got her "Philipe" and used that to "trim" the bushes.

Spring Shoe

Spring Shoe

I got these shoes at JCPenney. They are very comfortable and easy to walk in, which I would have never guessed when I first saw them. They are in my color palate of pinks/yellows/turquoise that I wear in the summer. I didn't pay a lot for them, but I think they are really cute.

A New Handbag

I haven't bought a new handbag in over a 2 years. 4 years ago I bought a Coach purse in Las Vegas while my husband was gamblings. I had won big at the MGM Grand and I used my winnings to buy a classic black handbag.
2 summer ago I bought another Coach purse in green with brown accents. It has a great shape, and I love the bright green color.
Yesterday when I was looking at skirts on Anthropologie's website I came across this bag. I love it! I love to carry bright bags during the Spring/Summer. It looks big enough for a diaper and some wipes and maybe even a bib and onesie. All the things you need when you travel with small children.
The only thing I don't like about it is the price. I'm not sure it would be classic enough to get me through a few years.
I noticed while I was shopping at Target that they had many new handbags in this same shape. I might pick one up for the summer.
What do you choose when looking for a handbag? A classic that will stay with you for many years or a cheaper one that is for one season only?

Going Back to an old Favorite

In my old life as a school teacher and wife I used to wear skirts all the time. I loved them. I would wear skirts in all seasons, long and short. Running late, throw on a skirt. Parent-Teacher Conferences, skirt and a blazer. First day over 50 degress, bring out the Spring skirts!

Once I became a Mom and spent most of my time sitting on the floor, climbing on the play equipment on the playground, or crawling through tunnels at the local play area I ditched the skirts. As anyone who has had a child knows, your body changes after having children as well, so many of them didn't fit the same way either.

I've decided that this spring/summer I'm going back to my old favorite. I feel comfortable in a skirt. I feel more "put together" when I have one on, if that makes sense.

I know I'll have to choose my days, but I vow to own more skirts this spring/summer. I found the above skirts at Anthropologie.

Red is the new Purple

Each season I seem to gravitate towards a color. Last spring/summer it was purple. Purple carried me into fall and stayed with me in the winter. I think I look great in purple. I change my hair color quite a bit. I go from bright blonde in the spring/summer to my current color of light brown. Puple seems to flater both colors.

That is why I was suprised that when I was scanning my favorite websites I seemed to ditch purple and go for red. Red was my go-to color a few years ago, and like purple, it seems to really flatter me. I always seem to get a lot of compliments when I'm wearing red. Even my Dad gives me compliments and he does not give them out freely. :)

I bought three items last week and they came in the mail today. All three are from Old Navy.

The first is the puffy sleeve top. I love the scoop neck on me, but I'm not sure of the sleeves. They hit at a weird place on my upper arm. I'll have to try it on again, but I think it is going back, or maybe a size up would be better.

The second is very out of character for me. When I tried it on, I instantly liked it. It has elastic around the waist, so it hides my post baby belly, but isn't so baggy that it makes me look like I am expecting again. The V-neck is not too low, so no need for a cami under which is nice in warmer weather when layering out of the question.

The third is the spring jacket. I love the classic look of it. It is a bit darker khaki in person, but is still nice. I'll have to get used to the belt, but it will add a bit of polish to an otherwise casual spring outfit.

Now all I need is the weather to warm up so I can wear them!
