Wedding Outfit Drama!

My college roommate got married last Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding. She looked so beautiful and was just glowing. I'm not going to post pictures of her because I'm not sure she would want them on the Internet. So, you'll just have to take my word for it.

I bought a dress for the wedding from J.Crew. I wrote about it here. I started having seconds thoughts about it a few days before the wedding. I liked it, but would I feel comfortable in it? The wedding took place in a church, but the reception was outside under a big tent. How would I feel there?

I started to panic. I was in IL visiting my family and the only store that had dresses that I would consider was Dillard's. I shopped there 2 days looking for a new dress. I finally told my husband to bring an outfit I had recently bought from Boden.

The day of the wedding I tried on both outfits for my husband and my best friend Missy. Of course my husband picked one outfit and Missy picked the other.

Boden:
In the end I went with the safe outfit from Boden. I was very comfortable, but felt very old. Why do I always do that? I wish I could take more risks with my clothing..

  1. Honestly, I like the Boden outfit best! I think it's more appropriate for a wedding! You looked great!

  2. Both outfits are lovely, but I think the Boden one was the right choice. And I don't think it makes you look old at all!

  3. I like the Boden outfit and you don't look old.But if you feel like being more adventurous in what you wear why don't you try in your dayly wear?Maybe it will be easier..

  4. I like them both. the first one seems more wedding event.. but you look gorgeous in the other as well... feeling comfortable is way more important to me than anything.. I think you made the right choice.

  5. You do look lovely in both but I have to say I wish you had worn that sweet lilac j. Crew! The color is beautiful on you, it's dressier and more youthful - you are a beautiful woman and can absolutely get away with taking risks!

  6. I have to agree with MrsKatherine. Although, I can totally relate, as I do the same often.

As of late, I've been giving this a lot of thought. Yes, my clothing :P, I'm kind of tired of going the "safe" way. I keep wondering what happened to the ME pre-child. I was all about wearing cool, stylish, yet comfy things...now, I'm happy in jeans a tee everyday.
