the year's last, loveliest smile.
~William Cullen Bryant
So, it seems fall has arrived to my tiny part of the world. I usually love this time of year with apple orchards and pumpkin patches, but this year it is filling me with dread. I know that a Michigan winter will quickly follow and I'm not made for Michigan winters.
Looking through my closet yesterday I realized (with excitement) that most of my clothes from last winter are too big, so I can look forward to some shopping. I actually went to my favorite store today and got a pair of jeans, a top, and a pair of boots. I'll post a picture of them when I wear them next.
I've decided that I need to do 3 things this autumn/winter.
1. Learn how to use my camera properly. My husband bought a Canon EOS Rebel XTi for both of us over a year ago and it just sits around.
2. Sew, sew, sew. It seems like I designate Sunday as my sewing day. Yesterday I made these cute sachets that I found on this blog. They were really easy, although I didn't add a button because with my ancient machine I would have to do them by hand.
3. Blog. I know, I go in spurts, but I am going to try to update twice a week and go from there. Perhaps learning to use my camera will help a little bit.
I know what you mean. I used to love Fall ut this year I'm dreading the winter that comes afterwards.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back :)
that is a nice camera...learn to use it, woman!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm glad to be back. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm working on it Rachel. I took some shots in "M" mode today and yesterday. I'm working my way through my book, Understanding Exposure.
